First Lineup Announcement: Keynote Speech, Special Speech

We are pleased to announce that the Keynote Speech theme at Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2019 is: Hitachi Social Innovation is POWERING GOOD.

At Hitachi, we collaborate with our partners to make what is "GOOD" for the world that it needs, a reality.
We believe our vision can be expressed as; Hitachi Social Innovation is POWERING GOOD.
This year, through a diverse program including speeches, business sessions, seminars and exhibits, under the concept of "POWERING GOOD," we will showcase the latest initiatives and customer cases of our Social Innovation Business which continues to evolve throughout the world through collaboration with customers and partners.

Toshiaki Higashihara, President & CEO of Hitachi, will give a Keynote Speech at the beginning of the event.
We aim to promote a better society and create new value with you. President Higashihara will incorporate this into POWERING GOOD during his lecture.

Title "The Story of Great Innovators & How We Nurture Breakthrough Innovation in Our Lives"
Venue Tokyo International Forum, Hall A

Why were global and historical innovators, who accomplished great achievements, able to actually realize these ground-breaking innovations? How can we create innovations in a company or organization? Based on the quality and strategic thinking that are common in breakthrough innovators, Dr. Schilling will give a 60-minute talk about the key to creating possibilities for developing innovations. Dr. Melissa A. Schilling

Professor of Management Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University
She is an innovation scholar who specializes in innovations and strategies in the high-tech industry, including smartphones, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and renewable energy.
Her book, Strategic Management of Technological Innovation, 5th edition at present, has been published in seven languages and is a standard textbook on innovation strategy.
Her most recent work is Quirky: The Remarkable Story of the Traits, Foibles, and Genius of Breakthrough Innovators who Changed the World (Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. 2018).
